Pimenton - Sweet Paprika

It is used in all types of cooking around the world and is, of course used in the famous Paellas.

Here are some favourite recipes:

Hungarian rice

Ingredients:

(For four people): 300 grams of long grain rice, two large tablespoons of paprika, 300 grams of pork, 100 grams of ham, one onion, three sausages, 80 grams of butter, a medium sized cabbage, ground white pepper, water and salt.

Preparation:

Boil the rice with plenty of salt for 12 minutes. First drain and then rinse with cold water and put to one side. Sprinkle the rice with some of the paprika and a little pepper. Chop up the cabbage and boil in salted water. Meanwhile finely cut the onion and fry in butter. Drain the cabbage and the cover with the onion and butter mix. Chop up the meat, sausages and ham, and fry for a few minutes in some butter. This Hungarian rice is served in layers. One layer of rice, one of cabbage, one of meat, and finally topped with another of rice. This final layer should be sprinkled with a little paprika. Heat in the oven and serve hot at the table.

Lentils with paprika

Ingredients:

(For four people): 4 cups of lentils, a tablespoon of paprika, a tablespoon of olive oil, salt.

Preparation:

Cook the lentils on a medium heat.; Meanwhile, put the oil in a frying pan and heat for a few minutes, then leave to cool. Once the oil has cooled, add paprika. Later, pour the oil into the pan with the cooked lentils, salt accordingly and stir; lentils are now ready to eat.

To this dish you can also add some cooked pieces of your favourite Chorizo.
